Jimmy Stephens states:

He just makes a bunch of claims without any back-up

He repeats a few times over, using different synonyms, that gender is reducibly social construct.

Uh, okay, says who?

I didn’t watch the full video – it was boring me to tears – but he did not address the question how God Himself addresses His own gendered language in the Bible? He does not address the divine authorship of Scripture, and in neglecting this issue, he tacitly denies verbal plenary inspiration.

The irony is that:
(a) This is to ignore what God Himself has to say about His “gender”
(b) It is to favor his own “projections” of gender over a Biblical theology of God’s gender
(c) His view tattle-tales on itself that it’s a culturally compelled game of make-believe

When all gender is fabricated projection, so is the claim that God doesn’t follow the rules of my fabricated projections.

If you want to fault people, you need rules.

Add to this he puts forward an anti-Christian view of sexuality: (a) that it’s merely a biological feature without spiritual aspect or ramifications and (b) that the Bible does not have a rigorously dichotomous view of male-female sexuality.

This he asserts, without justification, that the biological sexes are a spectrum.

On a hilarious sidenote, this is incredibly insulting and dehumanizing to women who suffer too much testosterone, have weird genital problems, etc., and the same for men who have micropenises and such.

“You’re not really a man, just mostly man and part woman.”He makes a bunch of abstract, unqualified, unexemplified claims about the issue being complex in Scripture: yeah, I mean, I can just throw up the same smoke and mirrors about the use of tiktok videos to throw out bombastic claims as if they matter.

It’s fine to say something’s complex, and then unpack false dichotomies and confused equivocations and missed details.

It’s what Don Carson called imperious ignorance to obtusely throw up your hands and say something is tremendously complicated as if that’s an objection to a clear and simply put view.
