Robert Dunham is a lead promoter of the abolition of the death penalty and the eventual end of life imprisonment. This causes him to defend obviously guilty individuals with no consciousness for the victims. Furthermore, he offers no significant justification for his belief in the abolition of the death penalty, other than slandering his critics.
Rodney Reed is just one in a long line of murderers Robert will try to free because he supposes that the death penalty is of such a moral evil he must dance for any rapist murderer he can find.
