Braxton Hunter and Jonathan Pritchett had Warren McGrew on their show to discuss whether he is a heretic. This led to a series of friendly discussion but unclear and unpersuasive conclusions.
I posed two inquiries regarding Warren McGrew’s perspective:
I questioned his position on Sola Fide and whether he embraces the idea of God being corporeal. Despite his firm denial of affirming God’s corporeality, there appears to be a hint of inconsistency in his responses.
Namely, his recent participation with Chris Fisher and Sean Griffin:
Recently, he took to creating a video in response to Tyler Vela. Tyler suggests that different theological threads somehow stitched together to form the Bible, insinuating a resemblance between God in the Old Testament and Warren McGrew’s conceptualization (Idol Killer). However, I’m not inclined to buy into these rather assertive notions about theological development and redactors.
What’s intriguing is Warren McGrew’s peculiar line of argumentation. The real puzzle lies in how he manages to sidestep the comparison between Yahweh and Zeus. While Tyler argues that Zeus is corporeal and lacks the attributes of a classical theistic God, Warren seemingly contends that God is corporeal but conveniently discards those very attributes. Quite the theological acrobatics.
Also, TF and Dan Chapa give some commentary about Sola Fide and Idol Killer:
