Shapiro vs Harris

I usually don’t speak about Ben Shapiro or Sam Harris but they recently had a debate. I reject both materialism and Judaism. Both men are prominent and popular in current conservative circles. They represent the two sects that exist in conservativism: Religious and Non-religious. The question will one day become which of these undergird that political system. The village atheist thinks that Harris is actually some genius and the theist thought Ben got him on the issue of Freewill. This goes to show how each group lacks critical thinking skills. Harris is asked how does he avoid the naturalistic fallacy. … Continue reading Shapiro vs Harris

Altruistic Theaters

I have sometimes been around an unbeliever that claims they wouldn’t want Jesus to die for them and that it is wrong for him to bear the punishment they deserve. Why should Jesus have to die for me? Everyone should be responsible for themselves. It seems to me that these intuitions need to be challenged. Imagine you go to the movies and the story is about a son of a man of outstanding character has engaged in illegal activity that catches him into trouble. This man of character then engages in a story that requires if he wishes to save … Continue reading Altruistic Theaters

Did Jesus exist?

This is the silliest of all the issues I am providing links on. It also contains resources for the reliability of the New Testament. The idea that Jesus doesn’t exist has grown more popular as village atheist has grown more desperate for arguments. These will not convince them, but it will help those confused by them. Here are the resources: Tyler Vela: Special Edition – Interview with Albert McIlhenny History for Atheists… And the Rest of Us – Part 1 History for Atheists… And the Rest of Us – Part 2 “I Will Cite My Sources When You Agree With … Continue reading Did Jesus exist?

ARIF vs Necessitarian

Here is Jimmy Stephens response to the same man from my previous post. Here are his thoughts: Your questions seemed like contorted, flowery pseudo-intellectual word games crafted to trip up atheists. And this preface isn’t flowery or lacking charity at all. My epistemological standard is correct because it works. . . What sane and sober person thinks otherwise? What a useless standard. Science and the scientific method is that standard. Categorical error alert! By the very nature of the case, science does not answer or even ask the fundamental questions of epistemology. For example, “How do I know induction … Continue reading ARIF vs Necessitarian

Psychopaths and Morality

Steve Hays once said: “Most atheists are physicalists. The brain generates the mind. So morality is located in the brain. … Although psychos have abnormal brains, they don’t have defective brains, since–according to naturalism–there’s no way the brain is supposed to be. And psychopaths can be highly functional. On this view, morality is arbitrary. Morality is an artifact of brain structures. If you change the wiring, you change morality. In theory, evolution might have made psychopathic brains normal rather than abnormal. The majority might have psychopathic brains. Empathetic humans would be abnormal. From a naturalistic perspective, that’s all there is … Continue reading Psychopaths and Morality
