Village Atheist Warrior
Here an atheist answered 5 questions my friend asked him and here are the results: “Your questions seemed like contorted, flowery pseudo-intellectual word games crafted to trip up atheists. I feel like these ‘questions’ have been geared to a predetermined answer of, “Because God did it.’ But… I’ll bite. 1. “How do you know your epistemological standard is the correct standard to have? State what the standard is and prove its truthfulness.” My epistemological standard is correct because it works, because the knowledge I gain from it is useful and leads me to new knowledge that also works and is … Continue reading Village Atheist Warrior
“Start with”
Atheist use to present to me the problem of starting points. They use to argue that we must start with ourselves or we must start with logic. That is because if we start anywhere else we would enter incoherence. You would have Christianity without logic and you wouldn’t know Christianity was your starting point because you didn’t know that you exist. The Christian says that he starts with God. How could he start with God at the expense of your own existence and laws of logic? The issue with this criticisms is that they confuse what is meant by “start … Continue reading “Start with”

Hunter Avallone on Islam
Often, we see an individual that uses politics as a means of becoming prominent and almost as a new religion. I think an individual named Hunter is like that. He seems to just wish the government would become more conservative. I think we have much agreement on that, but for different reasons. He has become apostate and has accepted a rather simplistic view of naturalism. He complains about the attack in Barcelona and yet has no basis for doing such. The events of Barcelona are just matter in motion in his worldview. We reduce to atoms in a cosmic accident. … Continue reading Hunter Avallone on Islam
An Example of Apologetic Conversation On Moral Antirealism
Recently an unbelieving buddy of mine, with whom I chat over the net rather frequently, invited me to a thread over on The Thinking Atheist. The topic reads, Challenge to proponents of objective morality, and the OP sets up a trifold “challenge” for proponents of moral realism. Based on the contributing minds over at The Thinking Atheist forums as well as comments following the OP, it remains dubious to me whether anyone has a clear idea what is even meant by “objectivity” under the topic of (meta-) ethics, but nevertheless, my buddy convinced me to throw in two cents as … Continue reading An Example of Apologetic Conversation On Moral Antirealism
B.C. Askins vs Dan Courtney
This is an old debate exchange between B. C. Askins (presuppositional apologist) and Dan Courtney (atheist). Here are the parts: B. C.: Part 1 Dan: Part 2 B. C.: Part 3 Dan: Part 4 B. C.: Part 5 Dan: Part 6 Continue reading B.C. Askins vs Dan Courtney
Euthyphro Dilemma
Here is the way it usually is put: Socrates’s problem with the traditional stories about the gods gives rise to what is sometimes called ‘the Euthyphro dilemma’. If we try to define the holy as what is loved by all the gods (and goddesses), we will be faced with the question ‘Is the holy because it is loved by the gods, or do they love it because it is holy?’ (Euthyphro, 10a). Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy This was convincing to the Greeks because the pagan gods they believed in were mutable, finite, and immoral entities. This doesn’t apply so easily … Continue reading Euthyphro Dilemma
Idolatry of Politics
We live in an interesting time. The world is still trying to find it answers. The current cultural and political climate has drifted into the religious. The tribalism that requires compromise of principles for loyalties has affected everyone. I recently criticized a former “Christian” that has high influence in the conservative movement. I think the new interest of the American people in politics is a great thing and bring further discussion. The issue is that they see politics as a savior of some kind. They are practicing political idolatry. They have placed their trust with a government to save them. … Continue reading Idolatry of Politics
Hunter Avallone and Christianity
[responsivevoice_button] A while back Hunter Avallone became an official apostate. He did another recent video mocking himself from years back for being a “Jesus freak”. He thinks that being a shallow atheist is better. He begins the video by talking … Continue reading Hunter Avallone and Christianity
