Who are the 144,000 in Revelation 7:1? Some would say they are Israel, Jehovah’s witnesses, or all of God’s people. The number of the sealed comes to 12,000 for each tribe. The balanced numbering suggests that 12 is a symbolic number for the fullness of the people of God. Dan is omitted, possibly because Dan was early associated with idolatry (Judges 18; cf. 22:15; 21:8). Instead, we find both the tribe of Joseph and the tribe of Manasseh. I was recently in a discussion with two dispensationalist about spiritual bodies. They argued that the “body of Christ” is Christ “spiritual body”. They attached it to 1 Cor. 12:11-27 and Eph. 3:6, 4:4-16.
