I will be giving my commentary on a video by Warren McGrew on the issue of whether God has perfect knowledge. This is because he has nothing written and readily available to read and critique. He is an Open Theist … Continue reading Warren McGrew on Perfect Knowledge
There recently was a debate regarding apologetic methodology. It was between Dr. James White, Dr. Jonathan McLatchie, Dr. Randal Rauser & Dr. Richard Howe. I wish to comment on each one’s perspective and come to some conclusion regarding the performance … Continue reading 4 Views on Apologetics: White, Rauser, McLatchie, and Howe
The Timeline of Dr. White’s Tweets This is the one on one conversation between an Elder and a man who lost his ex-wife to the virus. All other conversations within the Twitter thread have been stricken. It’s my personal opinion … Continue reading For the Record…
[responsivevoice_button] I have been having an exchange with a Catholic and I think it is nearing its end. For reference: http://spirited-tech.com/COG/2020/03/02/the-true-church/ TLM fan: Protestant fallacy #1: “The Church that follows the Words of God has the truth.” Really? This is a sequel to my previous article: http://spirited-tech.com/COG/2019/05/31/traditionalist-and-eisegesis/ Chris Harris shows a major flaw in the position of Leighton Flowers and John Cranman’s interpretation of Romans 9. They believe Calvinists interpretations of Romans 9 require Paul to eisegete the Old Testament. Chris Harris shows that their method of argumentation is hypocritical given the fact they state and apply the same method Calvinist do and then denounce the method when used by a Calvinist. In Romans 9:25, Paul begins quoting the OT and this starts with a quotation from Hosea 2:23 and 1:10. Hosea is writing about the restoration of … Continue reading Cranman’s Achilles
The Arminians (who bring popery and Pelagianism in by the back door) have struck against the same rock. For although they endeavor with great labor to prove that they do not make faith the cause of election (in order to shun the odium of semi-Pelagianism deservedly charged upon them), still they do not deny that it is the cause sine qua non or the prerequisite condition necessary in those to be elected. Yea, not obscurely can we gather that they proceed further and attribute a certain causality to faith, so that God is moved by its foresight to choose this … Continue reading Turretin on Arminians
I watched a Mormon debate, Dr. James White, today and I found it worthy of discussing. The Mormon’s name was Kwaku and I have spoken with him on an occasion. Kwaku reminds me of Bob Vukich. They are smarter than their worldviews but they have to go back and find anything they can to salvage their position. Let’s just go to some of the issues that came up. 1. Historical context: Kwaku argues that the Jews didn’t deny that other gods didn’t exist. He notes the widely accepted idea in scholarship that the Jews believe in polytheism just like the Mormons … Continue reading Mormons and OT Polytheism
