Go check out those bushes

http://thereforegodexists.com/presuppositionalism-makes-unreasonable-believe-god/ I suppose Richard bushy has long departed from being interesting and settled for a rather obvious shallow criticisms of presuppositionalism. 1. He equates innate knowledge to presuppositionalism. They are related , but not identical. I know for a fact Dr. Vern Poythress (one of the leading presuppositionalist of our time) doesn’t hold to innate knowledge in the way Dr. Bahnsen held to it. Are we to conclude Dr. Poythress (Dr. John Frames best friend) isn’t a presuppositionalist? Seems rather silly. 2. To be fair he is specifically responding to Dr. Scott Oliphint. But he white washes all presuppositionalist as … Continue reading Go check out those bushes

Spiritually Dishonest Ministries

I recently had an exchange with the owner of Spiritually honest ministries . I have edited my comments for clarity purposes. http://spirituallyhonestministries.weebly.com/ https://plus.google.com/101966781319840582394 The Sire (TS) said: Why was I kicked out of the Islamic – Christian debate community? Christian Anarchist (CA) said: Vincent , because there is a part of your behavior in dealing with apologetics that I do not allow in the community. I hold this same standard towards anybody who is Christian or Islamic. TS said: What did I do? What behavior are you speaking of? CA said: It’s nothing you did in the community. It’s just … Continue reading Spiritually Dishonest Ministries

Islam: A Reformed Critique

“Islam and Moral Absolutes. In the film I adopted John Frame’s argument that the precondition for the obligation we all feel to be moral must be both absolute and personal since morals are absolute and obligation to be moral only makes sense in interpersonal relationships. Thus, a personal, absolute being is required (John Frame, Apologetics to the Glory of God, [Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing Company, 1994], pp. 97-102). The Islamic god, “Allah,” is not truly personal. While the members of the Christian Trinity enjoyed eternal communion and relationship (meaning they have been eternally personal), the Islamic god is Unitarian and … Continue reading Islam: A Reformed Critique

Edward’s circle

Response to Leighton Flowers: http://soteriology101.com/ “In a recent online discussion, Dr. Johnathan Pritchett made a strong case against Calvinist’s position on this point: Theological argument – In order for person X to freely choose Y, God has to ensure that person X has the desire to only choose to do Y so Y obtains, because like all things, God decreed Y. If God ensures Y, and Y is sin, then God caused X to sin because there are any number of other things that could obtain if X had different desires, even other sinful ones. But God decreed X to … Continue reading Edward’s circle

Poor Richard’s Almanac

I’ll be doing my best to respond to an article written sent to me by a friend(Thanks, John). The link is below: How Presuppositionalists Suppress The Truth In False Piety “First, a summary of these positions might be in order. I am a classical apologist.” You seem to be just a plain classical apologist that dabbles in evidentialism. “This means that I will use reason, arguments and evidence to come to the conclusion that God exists.” The issue has always been that facts may be consistent with a theory given certain assumptions. I find a “fact” meaningless apart from a … Continue reading Poor Richard’s Almanac

The thunder rolls

Fellow council member Chris Harris sent me statements of Leighton Flowers. So, I decided to respond. LEIGHTON FLOWERS said: “Chris, haven’t you ever seen a cop show where the cops threaten one gang member by suggesting they will put them back out on the street unprotected where the opposing gangs can get to him? Are the cops causing the gangs to break the laws or are they using one evil gang to correct the another lesser evil gang member? Can you see that parallel here with the really evil “gang” called Assyria and the lesser evil gang called Israel who … Continue reading The thunder rolls

Plucking Flowers

Dr. Leighton Flowers continues to show that even as a Doctor he does not understand Calvinism. As he typically does, to throw meat to his savage cult-like followers. He misrepresents Calvinist doctrine. Leighton said: Calvinism summarized: “You’re either saved or damned for all eternity because you were either saved or damned from all eternity by God.” If he had any ability, to be honest, he would recognize that one is saved or damned based on the good pleasure of God. That’s quite common in Calvinist theology. God also has purposes for individuals as they fit into God’s plan for the … Continue reading Plucking Flowers

Han Shot First

General Han Solo(Robert Rowe) has made another blunder in quoting the Belgic confession in support of his Neo-orthodox view that it supports the idea that God’s word is not the ultimate authority and rather the sentient universe is the true ultimate authority for Christians that binds our conscious(and somehow this ties into theosis). The problem is he is misusing the scriptures and the Confessions. Robert also was defending that the entire world has heard the Gospel. He brought up Romans 10:18: ‘But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the … Continue reading Han Shot First

Upcoming Events

Just a quick note on what’s going on in the near future on topics to have. Soon, the folks from Semper Reformande Radio want to discuss Presuppositional Apologetics. Mostly about the difference between Van Til and Clarke. Based on a recent podcast they released, they exposed the issues of Van Tilian apologetics. I wanted to discuss with Tim and Carlos that although there are some issues, you don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. I think they are both great weapons to use against the Atheist. Another event that Andrew Rappaport and I are in talks with is a … Continue reading Upcoming Events
