The idea that permeates internet atheist thought is that the dark ages were caused by Christianity and drove the world into darkness. This even setting human advancement back hundreds of years. This narrative is false and just a silly theory with only evidenced by a family guy episode. I have for a long time held a hatred for the metaphor of the “two books” that those who consider themselves scientifically enlightened use as some sort of theological point.
