Every Flowers has its thorn

Roses are Red, violets are blue. Another bad argument Dr. Flowers has brought to you. Enjoy! Dr. Flowers from “Soteriology101” and our own Bryan Forbes engaged in a conversation over twitter. Nate Davis said: The question that needs to be asked is what are the attributes of those who do cleanse themselves? Is it all their doing or God working in them? Later on in 2 Timothy it says it is God who grants repentance. Not someone waking up out of the blue (v 25) Dr. Flowers said: Never said it was “out of the blue” but in response to … Continue reading Every Flowers has its thorn

144,000

Who are the 144,000 in Revelation 7:1? Some would say they are Israel, Jehovah’s witnesses, or all of God’s people. The number of the sealed comes to 12,000 for each tribe. The balanced numbering suggests that 12 is a symbolic number for the fullness of the people of God. Dan is omitted, possibly because Dan was early associated with idolatry (Judges 18; cf. 22:15; 21:8). Instead, we find both the tribe of Joseph and the tribe of Manasseh. Now Manasseh and Ephraim were the two sons of Joseph. Hence, logically we should find either Manasseh and Ephraim as separate heads … Continue reading 144,000

Becoming God?

It is often the case that people butcher metaphors found within the Bible. They read either metaphors literal or they ignore the intended scope. I will be commentating on the hyper-literal Mormon usage. They ought to see what scholars like Cason say on Biblical sonship. https://youtu.be/gOFKQzjw_zU They take Acts 17:29 to mean we are literally the offspring of God. The issue with that interpretation ignores the fact that this text is making a polemical point. He is not agreeing with his pagan audience but criticizing them for their beliefs. Paul is just saying mankind is made in God’s image and … Continue reading Becoming God?

A delicate flower

As you probably can tell, this is another post about the notorious Professor Leighton Flowers. He has made a few new videos (probably in preparation for his upcoming debate). Flowers has the spiritual gift of not being able to add any new content to the conversation. He also provides no alternative for us to turn too. The good of Flowers is that he will weed out the Calvinist that doesn’t study. That allows for Calvinist to better formulate their beliefs. It is through refinement we come to stronger and better positions.I won’t be providing a full rebuttal to his videos. These are just my comments about … Continue reading A delicate flower
