Warren McGrew wants a God-Bod

A picture from a Chris Fisher’s cult group. Warren McGrew was promoting a liberal OT scholar for their case that God has a body. I just wish to point out that scholars disagree about the nature of what ANE individuals believed about the nature of the gods:

Most OT scholars do maintain that God did possess a body. This is because it seems across the ANE there are embodied deities. I think there is some truth in that position. In fact, I think there is a particularly good, reformed answer to the issues at hand. The reason people object to this is because it leaves God merely another object in the universe. He isn’t transcendent and any transcendence is mocked at by those like Warren. What’s next in Warren’s procrustean bed? Creation from nothing? Objective Moral values? Silly theology has silly consequences.
